As a linguist, I’ve had a lot of interesting conversations with programmers about the similarities between linguistics and coding.
Here’s an example of a simple linguistic tree structure for the sentence “The internet loves cats” (which of course is also true!)
But you can actually represent the information in this structure in several different ways, and many of them look a lot like code.
wenn ich mich schlecht fühle & du nicht da bist, 10:21 pm
I want you to be here right now. I want to see your face and your sweet smile and your shining eyes. I want you to say “Everything is going to be alright” and I want you to repeat it until I believe it. I want to look at you and to forget everything that will come because only you are my future.

-I am currently reading a book in French about Mandarin grammar while reading a webpage in Mandarin about French grammar. This could be interesting.
monolingual: oh you speak X?? say something in X!!me in X: it must be so sad to only know one language
monolingual: so beautiful. man, i wish i could speak another language
Ten Germans try to say the word “Squirrel”
This made my night.
ahhh this is really cute
My favorite part about getting Apple releasing a new iOS is when the start screen comes up. All the different languages are just so fascinating!
The difference between learning a modern language and an ancient language is that in first year French you learn “Where is the bathroom?” and “How do I get to the train station?” and in first year Attic Greek or Latin you learn “I have judged you worthy of death” and “The tyrant had everyone in the city killed.”

Here’s some info and vocab stuff about French keyboards. Attention! ‘French’ in this case means ‘from France’; the keyboard is different in other Francophone countries.
First, the keyboard isn’t QWERTY it’s AZERTY and that makes it a bit weird to use at the beginning (especially the A). Second, almost all the symbols are in a different place.
This is mostly annoying for the comma, which is where the US M is located.
Third, you have to press shift+[symbol] to get any number and shift+; to get a period/full stop. Other symbols, too, but these are the most inconvenient.
